With every new year, comes a new festival season. There are going to be numerous opportunities all over the world to see all your favorite musical acts across all genres. The 2016 BPM Festival, now in its 9th year in Playa Del Carmen, has been given the honor of being known as the kickoff to the festival season calendar. Starting on January 8th, this 10-day long festival with over 350 of the most world-renowned electronic DJs, is one that every fan of the genre should put on their bucket list. 1. Mark Knight
Hailing from the UK, Grammy Nominated DJ Mark Knight has been on the electronic scene for over 10 years, working alongside other heavyweights such as Tiesto, Underworld and Basement Jaxx just to name a few. Heading up independent label Toolroom Records and Toolroom Radio which reaches over 13 million people worldwide, his global reach is undeniable and will definitely make his live set on Saturday, January 9th a must see!

With his unique sound, ranging from mixing minimal deep house beats to incorporating soulful vocal stylings, Berlin based &ME’s has made an everlasting impression on the house scene. Reminiscent of the early 90s house scene at times, his modern take in his live sets will keep fans both guessing yet dancing all night. Don’t miss his live stream set to air on Tuesday, January 12!

3. Nicole Moudaber
Constantly heralded as one of the top producers in various lists, with cosigns from house idols such as Carl Cox, Lebanese-Nigerian DJ Nicole Moudaber is a true global DJ in every sense of the word. Active for over 7 years and having played at every major electronic music festival in the world, her hard hitting house sound and intense sets will almost leave you breathless at times. Get ready to be amazed when her live set airs on Tuesday, January 12!

4. Joseph Capriati
At only 28 years old, Joseph Capriati has been producing since 2007, yet having only started DJing in 2012, is already being heralded as one of the new leaders in techno. Coming from Italy, he has made a name for himself by taking risks in his high energy sets, and even having multiple 12 hour sets! Though his live stream on Thursday, January 14th shouldn’t be quite that long, it is still definitely one to watch.

5. Anja Schneider
Founder of the label Mobilee Records and based out of Berlin, Anja Schneider has been involved in music since 1994, first in radio, followed by her first foray into music production in 2004. As label head, producer, and DJ, it is not surprising that she is constantly referred to as one of the most hard working people in the house music scene. Be sure to check out her live stream on Wednesday, January 13th!
