Download Festival has rapidly become one of the big names on the British festival circuit, and as of yesterday the 12th June, it has just finished its 13th installment with a stellar headline performance from Iron Maiden.

This year, however, it was announced that the Download Festival would be occurring in two sites simultaneously, one in the usual site of Donington Park, and the other in Paris, France. In order to celebrate the inaugural Download Paris, ARTE Live provided a series of livestreams throughout the final day of festivities. Below are some of the highlights from that day.

Children Of Bodom:

After an atmospheric introduction the band kicked off with hits ‘Follow The Reaper’ and ‘Silent Night, Bodom Night’ from the band’s earlier material igniting the crowd immediately with tight melodic death metal. Bodom kept up the pace with another hit, ‘Hate Me’, from their Follow The Reaper record.

After a brief chat with the audience: “You’re fucking beautiful let me tell you that…we’re going to play a song we’ve never played in this country before”, Children Of Bodom’s set continued with ‘Morrigan’ and ‘In Your Face’.

After once again thanking the audience the band blasted into an incredible rendition of ‘Angels Don’t Kill’, seeing the crowd singing along with the chorus and screaming their appreciation. ‘I Worship Chaos’ saw another huge response from the audience, before the band played their last few tracks.

Beartooth:

After a short break Beartooth took to the stage with their blend of deep chugging riffs interlaced with heavy and soft vocals. “We are a band called Beartooth., how the fuck are you doing Download?”  asked frontman Caleb Shomo as Beartooth took the stage, before the band blasted into ‘The Lines’ from their 2014 debut.

Beartooth played a few cuts from their brand new record Aggressive as well as some classics. The band carried an intense energy, which rubbed off on the crowd in a big way. A great set from a really exciting metalcore band.

Rival Sons:

Rival Sons took the stage to the theme song from The Good The Bad and The Ugly, seemingly taking inspiration from Metallica. The band kicked off in style with their hard-rock blues vibes with the stellar ‘Electric Man’.

Mike Miley’s taps on the hi-hat brought in ‘Secret’, another hit from Great Western Valkyrie, the band’s second last release. ‘Secret’ saw a massive crowd-band singalong during the last verse, which was a treat to witness.

Rival Sons continued their set with big hit ‘Pressure And Time’ and title track from new album, ‘Hollow Bones Pt. 1’, both of which were lapped up by the enamoured crowd. Check out a clip of it down below.

“This is a song about forgiveness.,” said frontman Jay Buchanan before blasting into power ballad ‘Where I’ve Been.’ The last few songs from Rival Sons’ set went by far too quickly, with the band closing on the hopeful ‘Keep On Swinging.’

It was a blast to be able to watch the festivities in France from the comfort of home. Be sure that you never miss a livestream again by heading over to LiveList.com now!
