Reggae Festival Watched in 94 Countries

Over Memorial Day of 2016, LiveList partnered with California Roots Music & Arts Festival to power their live streaming experience with the goal of increasing viewership and maximizing promotion of the annual three-day global webcast.  Artists including Michael Franti & Spearhead, Stephen Marley, Damian Marley, Slightly Stoopid, Tribal Seeds, Fortunate Youth, were among the impressive artist lineup who gave spectacular live performances originating from the Monterey County Fairgrounds, broadcast to 94 countries and syndicated to 26 different partner sites through the LiveList Channel product. California Roots saw the largest audience to date for their webcast in 2016 (see below infographic), with festival producer Dan Sheehan noting:

“In our first year of partnership, LiveList helped Cali Roots increase reach & engagement around our live stream to an all-time high, while their platform enabled us to tell our story to a global fanbase and create valuable analytics for our marketing team. The LiveList team understands the digital live festival space and are real professionals to work with.”

As the live streaming market continues to explode, LiveList’s mission is to provide music fans an easy way to discover and enjoy live streaming concerts happening around the world.  Although Cali Roots artists played to a sold-out festival crowd of 15,000 daily, tens of thousands of fans across the world weren’t able to attend due to geographical or financial constraints, or simply due to lack of awareness.  LiveList is helping solve that important promotion & distribution shortfall, and festivals are now seeing the live stream of their performances as not only potential revenue centers, but as strong promotional content that helps convert interested viewers into ticket buyers. Allen Sanford, CEO & Co-Founder of LiveList, commented:

“Working with Cali Roots, a highly-curated independent reggae festival in the U.S., was a great experience for our team.  As a result of our partnership with Dan Sheehan and his team, our platform was able to deliver on increased reach & engagement, valuable analytics, and the ability for the Cali Roots curators to create a storyline for their global fanbase.  We look forward to helping Dan continue to grow his addressable live viewing fanbase as well as sell more tickets through the use of data.”

About California Roots

California Roots isn’t just a music festival; it’s a movement. It’s a way of life. It delivers a cosmic blend of good vibes, true happiness, family, peace, love and joy to all who enter. When Jimi Hendrix torched his guitar at the Monterey Pop Festival in the late ‘60’s, he changed the way an entire generation looked not only at music festivals, but life itself. It is out of this same pure energy–the energy of natural and peaceful rebellion–that California Roots was born. We discovered the ecstasy that culminates from listening to awesome music, smiling at your neighbors and dancing with strangers; California Roots is about living life to the fullest.
