Today is the day LiveList and LA Weekly announce the winner of Rock The Beach LA. Together, we gave over 100 bands the chance to perform live on the beach in Los Angeles at the Hermosa Beach Summer Concerts in front of thousands of people in August 2016.

With tremendous hard work, dedication, perseverance, and resourcefulness, one band prevailed as the winner. After counting over 12,000 votes…we would like to congratulate Atomic Walrus from Los Angeles, CA on winning #LAWeeklyRockTheBeach.

Atomic Walrus will perform on Sunday, August 14th just south of the Hermosa Beach Pier at 5PM. The concert will be streamed live globally courtesy of LiveList.

About the band:

Atomic Walrus is the love-child of Sublime and 90’s Red Hot Chili Peppers, raised by Atmosphere on a diet of pure caffeine. The LA funk/rock/hip-hop group has an impressive résumé, considering it hasn’t yet reached its 3rd birthday: a self-produced EP, 3 music videos, and countless shows from the crustiest of college house parties to venues like Saint Rocke (Hermosa), The Boom Boom Room (San Francisco), and UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion. AW toured California last summer, playing 10 dates up and down the west coast and making new friends, as well as one arch-nemesis (but enough about Phil).

Atomic Walrus is currently in the studio recording a new EP and planning their next tour. In the meanwhile, you can catch them live at their monthly residency in Santa Monica on Main St.

Big shoutout to all the bands who submitted and all the fans who voted!
