Jon Epcar

November 22 | 3:00 PM Pacific

Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts

Jon Epcar’s diverse credits as a drummer include performing on Broadway with the shows Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark and Amelie, recording with John Legend, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Natasha Bedingfield, and Bono, as well as touring with the band Carney. Jon Epcar’s debut album Morning Drone finds him leading the band for the first time as writer, producer, and drummer on the album. Drawing inspiration from Bill Frisell to Ennio Morricone to Daniel Lanois, the music here is instrumental, melodically driven and cinematic in nature. His collaborators are some of Los Angeles and New York’s most creative and lyrical musicians, and together they create a sonic scape that is lush, simple, and emotive.  Don’t miss him live from the Kennedy Center on Tuesday!

Jazz at Lincoln Center

With trombonist/trumpeter/soprano trombonist/vocalist Wycliffe Gordon, reeds player Adrian Cunningham, pianist Ehud Asherie, bassist Corcoran Holt, and drummer Alvin Atkinson Jr.  Wycliffe Gordon has done it once again, winning Trombonist of the Year (2017) from the Jazz Journalists Association. Continuing our recent tradition, Gordon kicks off the holiday season with a five-night stay at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola and a special performance on Thanksgiving.
