Old Salt Union & Rumpke Mountain Boys

December 6 | 6:00 PM Pacific

JamGrass TV

JamGrass TV is proud to present a live video stream of Old Salt Union and Rumpke Mountain Boys from the Back Room @ Colectivo in Milwaukee, WI. Rumpke Mountain Boys have been Ohio’s number one bluegrass band for the last decade, and have made a name for themselves with their high-energy improvisational performances and signature blend of jamgrass that keeps their fans coming back for more. Old Salt Union doesn’t consider themselves to be a bluegrass band—but more so their own version of a not-quite-jammy, not-quite-traditional string band. The band’s songwriting and arrangements have grown immensely and there’s no sign of slowing down anytime soon.

Warren Haynes Pre-Christmas Jam

December 6 | 3:00 PM Pacific

Pre-Jam. It’s an annual WNCW tradition. The event is a special concert held each year, at The Orange Peel in Asheville, NC, in advance of Warren Haynes fundraiser for Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity. WNCW Music Director Martin Anderson said the idea of the Pre-Jam started at the station. “What began as a live Studio B session and a great opportunity for various artists to meet and jam with each other for the first time, has now become a tradition with a vibe all its own, said Anderson. “WNCW is honored to be able to broadcast it LIVE for you, in its entirety, with cool holiday tunes during set breaks to help get you into the Christmas spirit, ‘NCW-style.” The lineup for Pre-Jam is always a surprise, which is kinda perfect if you think about it. The holiday season is about giving, and nothing is better than a live, surprise lineup created by the incredible, Grammy Award Winning Vocalist, Songwriter, Producer, Guitarist and Philanthropist, Warren Haynes.

Steve Miller and Marty Stuart

December 8 | 5:00 PM Pacific

Jazz at Lincoln Center

Renowned blues-rock guitarist, multi-platinum-selling singer/songwriter, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Steve Miller continues his exploration of the blues. Having learned his first chords at age five from his godfather Les Paul, how to play lead guitar from T-Bone Walker at age nine, and then working with the best bluesmen in Chicago—Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Buddy Guy, James Cotton, and Paul Butterfield—Miller has a serious affinity for the blues. Each season he works with Jazz at Lincoln Center to present and expand upon one of the genre’s many unique flavors. This year, Miller and an all-star group of jazz, blues, and roots musicians will dig deep into classic Appalachian blues and bluegrass styles. For the first time in this series, Miller welcomes guitarist, mandolinist, vocalist, and American music icon Marty Stuart as co-host. Stuart was one of Johnny Cash’s late musical cohorts, and he is a chart-topping songwriter and producer, host of TV’s The Marty Stuart Show, and the winner of multiple Grammy Awards, Country Music Awards, International Bluegrass Music Awards, and the Americana Music Honors Lifetime Achievement Award. He’s bringing his band Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives, and additional special guests will be announced as the concert gets closer.
